From its birth in 2003 Old Blue Records’ focus has been on old-time rural music featuring the same instruments and repertoires of the first recordings of country music in the 1920s.

Old Blue Records began its “CLASSICS SERIES” with OB-709, FIDDLE CLASSICS and OB-710, BANJO CLASSICS. On these CDs, recordings from current musicians are paired with musicians recorded around two generations earlier.

Old Blue is starting a second series – the “TRIBUTE SERIES”. On the CDs , a current band will play only songs recorded by one of the many band that played and recorded in the “Golden Era” of rural music. We’re starting with two series:
OB-711 The Stage Hogs – A Tribute to the Hill Billies
OB-712 The New North Carolina Ramblers – A Tribute to Charlie Poole
